Retail to restaurant conversion with full interior and shopfront design
Our Role
Architectural and interior design consultant, delivering space planning, bespoke furniture and lighting schemes, and full shopfront redesign. We guided the project through planning, design, and branding integration for successful delivery.
Challenge
Changing the use of a commercial unit in Shaw, Oldham into a fully functioning restaurant, with a warm, inviting interior and a shopfront that attracts passing footfall, all while complying with hospitality regulations and design constraints.
Approach
We designed a complete interior layout tailored for efficient restaurant operations, incorporating dining zones, kitchen/service areas, and customer flow. Our team also delivered custom furniture and lighting design to create a cohesive dining atmosphere. The existing shopfront was redesigned to reflect the new identity, featuring updated glazing, signage, and lighting.
Solution
The project successfully converted a dual-unit retail space into a contemporary restaurant with a distinct visual character. The layout promotes a smooth dining experience, while bespoke furniture and ambient lighting enhance the brand and customer appeal. The upgraded shopfront improves street presence and clearly defines the use of the space. This is a strong example of how we help hospitality businesses establish a welcoming, functional setting through well-integrated design.
